All Candidates Meeting- Oct 2- Recplex

WASAGA BEACH ALL CANDIDATES MEETING

FRIDAY OCT 2, 2026

6:00 to 8:30 PM (Doors open at 5:30pm)

6:00 to 7:00 PM: Mayor and Deputy Mayor

7:00 to 8:30 PM: Councilor

Wasaga Beach Recplex

ALL CANDIDATES MEETING IS CANCELLED
Unfortunately, the The Escarpment Corridor Alliance (ECA) has decided to cancel tomorrow evening’s All Candidates Meeting at the Recplex, due to low candidate turnout, because of scheduling conflicts with other events that evening, including the Wasaga Beach Chamber Awards Ceremony which many are attending. With approximately half of the candidates unable to attend, we did not feel it was appropriate to proceed.
HOWEVER, to ensure candidates can still share their perspectives, they will be invited to submit responses to the prepared questions. The ECA and WBCAT will compile these responses into an upcoming ECA website blog, which will be shared broadly and with local media.
We sincerely appreciate the time and effort ECA, Friends of Nancy Island & Wasaga Beach Park and WBCAT volunteers and the participating candidates put into preparing for the event.
Fortunately there are others All Candidates Meetings scheduled.

All Wasaga Beach Candidates to Municipal Election 2026 for Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Councilor, have been invited to participate.

Moderator: Gillian White, PHD, Director at Trillium Foundation and Board Member at Escarpment Corridor Alliance.

Sponsored by Escarpment Corridor Alliance, with support from Friends of Nancy Island and Wasaga Beach Climate Action Team.

Don’t let others decide your city’s future—show up, listen, and vote smart!

Why All-Candidates Meetings Matter

Municipal elections directly affect our everyday lives—from roads, infrastructure, parks, recreation, tourism, businesses and housing to taxes, bylaws, planning and development, environmental protection and local services. That’s why attending an all-candidates meeting is so important.

These meetings give voters a chance to hear all candidates answer the same questions, compare their priorities and understand how they would address the issues that matter to our community. They also provide an opportunity to meet candidates and ask them personally questions and hear them explain their positions—not just through campaign websites, lawn-signs or social media.

Don’t vote based only on a name or a slogan. Take the time to listen, ask questions, compare the candidates and make an informed choice.

Your vote shapes the future of your community. Your participation starts by showing up.
